Asia Pacific Union For Housing Finance

Content of the Conference Around 150 delegates and speakers from different countries and different fields attended the Conference and shared their valuable experiences. The Conference focussed on various emerging issues in Asia Pacific region and deliberated on various aspects of affordable housing. The Sessions of the Conference included the following themes:

1. Housing & housing finance scenarios in different countries with special focus on issues concerning affordability with respect to Land, Technology, Credit and institutional arrangements
2. Expansion and growth in affordable housing markets through demand and supply side interventions
3. Role of Micro Finance Institutions in Micro Housing Finance
4. Growth & prospects of Primary Mortgage Market
5. Issues related to Urban Planning like planning process, formulation of developmental plan/strategies/zonal plan
6. Desirable financial sector intervention in the housing markets and necessary safeguards/risk mitigants required in this regard
7. Global experience in the field of Energy Efficiency in Housing Sector
8. Mortgage funding strategies of various countries after financial crisis with special focus on MBS & Covered Bonds.

The Conference also focused on requirements of the industry particularly in the backdrop of global issues that the mortgage industry has encountered in the recent past. The Conference also deliberated on wide ranging issues connected with Policy development, product innovation, affordability models and recent changes and developments in the housing finance markets being witnessed in different countries.
